There have been a lot of fantastic songs over the past 10 years. I am not even going to bother and number these because that would be foolish. Think of it as a small sample of all the great songs of the decade. Enjoy

Emo Tag

When did Emo become a category of pop music? I was around some teenagers lately and they were talking about Emo bands. I listened to a couple of the bands and was appalled, not because the music was bad but because it was not Emo. Too many pop bands with whiny lead singers are placed in this category incorrectly.

Emo stands for Emotional Punk. There are no elements of punk music in Dashboard Confessional, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Something Corporate, Owl City or a number of other bands that are incorrectly categorized here. I hate categorically labeling music but listen to some of the older Get Up Kids material or Sunny Day Real Estate. You can hear the punk elements in the songs.

Punk is raw and edgy. Over produced pop music should never have anything associate with punk in its name.
