In sticking on the topic of new material, it would be great if Sufjan Stevens put out a new album. His most recent releases are Illinoise (2005) and Songs for Christmas (2006). This was originally going to be a post about 5 bands that needed new albums but then I realized a couple of the bands I was going to post are working on new material, Pete Yorn (realease date 6/23/09) and Death Cab for Cutie. It also does not seem fair to include bands that may or may not be broken up (Ambulance LTD.) or singers that have died (Elliott Smith). With that I come full circle back to Sufjan. He is a fantastic singer songwriter and I think it is safe to say that his fans could use another LP.
